Week 3
This week they completed the soffit, flashed the outside, and applied the undercoat
for the rubber roofing system. It was weathertight enough to withstand a thunderstorm
on Wednesday night without a tarp.. The roofing and siding were delivered this week.
They also completed shimming all the floors to the same level,
got all of the subfloor down, and on Friday the interior walls went up. The space
seems smaller now that the walls are up..
Jen and I spent a lot of time thinking about lighting; we visited the lighting
store twice, and spent a lot of time on the web. We finally picked some sconces
for the sitting area in the bedroom, but haven't settled on bathroom fixtures. We think
we have a lighting plan to give the electrician, who will be starting next week. The plumber
is scheduled for the following week.
Nathan also started working on the vanity this weekend. I got the cases assembled,
and the face frames built and attached. Very happy with the progress.
