updates weeks 6 and 7

Week 6

Moving right along this week. The bedroom window was delivered on Tuesday morning and installed later that day (just after they hauled all the blueboard upstairs.) Brian built a deck for the tub, and the rough plumbing was completed. The tub and shower pan were installed, and the rough plumbing inspection passed! They continued on the framing for the bathroom including space for our ironing center and recessed medicine cabinet.

We ordered most of the lighting and also the tile. Our contractor ordered a custom- made floor-warming mat for the bathroom floor. And over the weekend Nathan continued on the vanity, getting the drawer boxes installed, the drawer fronts fit to the openings, and the doors ready for glue-up.

Next week the electrician starts and we expect the vinyl siding to go up.

Week 7

The electrician started Monday, and got the rough wiring installed in two days; the rough electrical inspection passed on Wednesday. The vinyl siding was installed in a couple days, and new gutters were installed as well -- this completes the exterior work. Our contractors had the idea of putting in a step for the tub to make getting in easier, which Jen thought was a good thing, so they built that. The rough framing inspection passed on Thursday. Three Stallion maple doors which we ordered from Wisconsin were shipped this week and arrived on Thursday via truck. Friday, the fiberglass insulation for the walls was installed. Due to the low-pitch roof, there is really no way to vent the roof properly, which will require installing spray foam insulation in the ceiling -- so that will be done next week. Our tile arrived on Friday as well.
