Update 2/12/07
In January, our contractors finished up their punch list... now the project is solely in our hands.
One of the last things they did was to fill in some strips in the bedroom to make up for the sagging
floor. Jen and I spent a Saturday working on tile in the bathroom, and we purchased some closet systems
for our three new closets.
The last week in January, my father came out for a week and we worked our tails off from 8 am
to 11 pm every day. We got all of the hardwood floors laid in 3.5 long days. We got the exposed
beam wrapped in maple plywood. And we got all of the doors and windows cased -- including the very
tricky doors in the hallway with strange angles (actually my dad did those himself...) We got a start
on the baseboard and my dad showed me a few "tricks of the trade" but left the rest for me to finish
up on my own. Whew.
Last weekend (Feb 10-11) Jen and I did more tiling in the bathroom. We finished setting the tile
in the shower, and part of the step.
I also got some varnishing of the casing and beam done during the week.
